About Salmo Children's Centre
The Salmo Child Care Society, formerly known as the Salmo Playschool Society, has operated Hearts n Hands Preschool since 1992. In 1995, the Society applied for, and subsequently received, a grant for a School-Based Child Care Project. The Society changed its name and purposes in 1996, to better suit the expanding services they would provide. In the fall of 1998 the School-Based project was complete, Hearts n Hands Preschool and the new Daycare and Out of School Care programs started the school year in a beautiful new location. Many years of negotiating and fundraising saw an expansion to include care for infants and toddlers in the fall of 2016.
