Special Needs Caregiver – Howell, NJ We’re a family of five in Howell, NJ (about 60 miles from NYC). We have a 23-year-old son with Autism who is non-verbal. He attends a weekday day program in East Brunswick, and we drive him to a pickup spot about 10 miles away at 8 AM and pick him up around 3 PM. Our longtime nanny (with us since our kids were babies) cares for him from 2:30–5:30 PM. Position Overview We’re looking for a reliable, kind, and patient caregiver to help with his daily routine and weekend activities. Weekdays (as needed): Occasionally drive him to/from the pickup spot (car provided). Help with his evening routine — reminders for showering and setting out clothes. Light bathroom cleanup when needed (a bidet is being installed). Weekends: Take him out for walks or short outings (park, mall, or boardwalk). Prepare or pick up simple meals. Supervise him if we go out for dinner or an evening event. If we travel, you would help care for him during that time once you’re comfortable with his routine. NOTE: You are free to work elsewhere while our son is in the day program , between 8AM-3PM. NOTE: Ability to cook simple vegetarian Indian meals is a plus. Language: English preferred (I speak English, Hindi, and Telugu, but my wife speaks only English).
