Ways To Motivate Your Child To Success

All parents would like our children to shine, succeed and achieve in life; we would love to see our children happy and enjoy being proud of his/her success. Thinking about it is one thing, whereas it is entirely different how we motivate our children to success.

Ways to motivate your child to success:

• A child’s achievement comes out of the child realizing how a particular goal is important for him/her. Parents need to instill this inspiration early in children; they need to be told that by getting a good education and doing well in studies, they invest in themselves. They would not only become more knowledgeable, but wiser and more intelligent.

• Making sure that your child is inspired towards the right goals also means making sure when they are young that they stick along with friends that have similar goals; it would be a good investment to enroll them into good schools where healthy competition creates the right environment for the child to put in more effort.

• Motivation and inspiration does not stop with just one incident; parents have to plan of attack and introduce them to successful and persevering people both in person and through stories. Repeating the idea in various ways helps to instill continued inspiration in the child.

Reaching goals by motivation

• Inspiring the child is one thing, however it is very important that a child also believes it is possible to achieve the goal; affirmations prove to be a very effective tool to encourage and inspire the child further. It helps to ask the child to write affirmations of his/her success many times daily; follow this up with both you and your spouse repeating these affirmations to him/her. This would strengthen the inspiration he/she has in one.

• Your child when young would be easily motivated towards a goal when there is a tangible reward in the form of reward, acknowledgement, and appreciation; encourage your child in every small action in the right direction, so that he/she is motivated to carry on further in the direction. Praise all the way is important and it depends on the parent to determine what rewards can be given; it should be affordable, realistic, desirable and age appropriate.

• We as responsible parents need to teach our children when young that they should persist in their efforts towards their goal in spite of minor setbacks and disappointments; persistence is a learnt trait and only we could teach our children to persevere towards guaranteed results. This can be cultivated by parents telling stories, suggesting books, discussing and taking them for movies depicting this trait. Once this trait in built children, they will not give up in their goals under any circumstances.

Inspiring and motivating children life-long is an important parenting responsibility, delivered with love they would bring life-long satisfaction in the shape of achieved goals.
