The complete guide for your baby's walking (1-2 years)
Walking is an important milestone in the development of a child; I have written all about the development stages in the walking of a baby from birth to one year in a previous article.
Your baby develops right from rolling to being on tummy and raising his/her head with the support of the hands to sitting to standing ultimately with the support like a sturdy table leg or a sofa. In this article I will be giving details of a baby’s walking from 1 to 2 years.
You will note that your baby has started walking at 1 year, but he/she walks clumsily; he or she walks with outstretched hands. This is basically because the toddler wants to balance oneself. You would also find that the toddler between 12 months to 15 months also graduates to stooping and standing up again.
As your toddler starts moving and improving in his/her walking he/she will enjoy push and pull toys; a real delight for most parents too.

It is necessary to note that there is a cause for concern if your child is not toddling at 14 to 15 months; consult a doctor to ensure that your baby is still within the normal range of development and to know what is causing the delay in this milestone.
Between the ages of 16 to 18 months most toddlers are a delight yet a cause for concern for parents. Your toddler would dance to music and would be able to walk up and down stairs and also backward.
By the time your baby is 2 years old, he/she will be able to run fast, kick a ball, stand on tip-toe, carry something in her/ his hands while walking, and jump from a low step to the floor.
I will be soon covering a complete guide to walking between 2 to 3 years. Till then happy mothering!
