How To Make Sure Your Baby Sleeps Through The Night
Most parents are relieved when they have put their baby to sleep; they only wish they also get some rest when he/she is asleep. It is very hard as well as undesirable to turn a deaf ear to the baby’s cry; we would lose their faith, what with children of persistent personalities.
Some tips to make the baby sleep all through the night:
- Experienced mothers would tell you dress the baby for the occasion; most babies in the early months like to sleep tight bundled up in a soft baby blanket, while older infants like to sleep loose with a freedom of movement. Whatever the condition be it is best to make sure that the baby is neither too hot nor too cold; this could be ensured by adjusting the layering according to the temperature of the room. The use only cotton sleepwear for recommended for those babies that are allergy prone.
- Again it is the experience of mothers that quiet and darkness in the bedroom makes the baby sleep longer and more soundly. Having a quiet bedroom is especially necessary for those babies that get startled and get up with sudden noises; it is necessary to oil the joints and springs of a squeaky crib and also prevent all noises like the shout of other children and barking of dogs. You could use opaque shades to block off light that comes into the bedroom and awakens the baby at the first ray of the sun.
- Grandmothers say that creating a right bedroom temperature and humidity helps put baby to sleep longer; a consistent temperature of 70 degree F and humidity around 50% is conducive to sleep. Dry air may awake the baby with a stuffy nose, while high humidity would promote allergy producing molds. The warm mist vaporizer with the consistent hum would help maintain humidity with central heating in the winter months and help the baby to stay asleep.

- Warm is the keyword to put the baby to sleep throughout the night, especially in winter; it is advisable to put warm flannel sheets or a warm towel on the sheets to warm them. Remove it before putting the baby to sleep with the warmed sheets.
- Experts say that repetitive, monotonous sounds help to keep the baby sleeping; the sound of a fan, air conditioner, vacuum cleaner, sounds in the womb, running water from a nearby faucet or shower, a bubbling fish tank, a You could tape-recorder these sounds and play them; they are good lullabies and remind the baby of when he/she was in the womb.
Last but most important it is best to make sure your baby goes to sleep on a full tummy; though not too full. Most babies have small tummies and so giving your baby something often; feeding the baby a cereal just before bedtime ensures he/she sleeps longer.
