All About Being An Animal Breeder
The thought of various occupations of the pet business, brought to my mind today the prospect of being an animal breeder; breeding is a very fascinating and rewarding occupation to interact with animals. You could actually make a good start with any animal and follow the steps mentioned below faithfully to do so.
The how to become an animal breeder:
1) Though fascinating and rewarding occupation to interact with animals, consider carefully if you want to breed animals because the world is already overpopulated with animals. Also breeding animals reduces the chance of animals in shelters from being adopted. Never breed animals if you do not understand how to care for the animals you breed or would want people who want the offspring. Also it is necessary to have the money, supplies and a valid reason to breed.
2) Next pick up the animal you wish to breed; you could breed an animal whose need you understand best or one that is nearing extinction.
3) Next decide on the specific male and female animal you want to breed. There are various options to do it. You could own a female and pay to breed with someone else’s male or you could own the male and pay to breed with someone else's female, or own both the male and female to breed.
4) Make sure the first breeders are premium quality, as their bloodlines will go down to every animal their offspring breed. Also it is best to contact an experienced vet before you breed; he/she will be able to treat the animals if something goes wrong.

5) Do a thorough research about how to breed animals; you could work for another breeder and also gather information from the internet, books and libraries. Make sure the information is valid and modern.
6) Next start breeding the animals; it may take a few tries for the female to get pregnant. In case of failure check if the male is fertile. Always breed healthy animals in good shape. Also respect the feelings of the animal and do not treat them as breeding machines.
7) Remember that it is very important to help the mother to deliver babies and look after them. When the babies are of an appropriate age, wean them and then advertise for their sale.
8) Screen the potential buyers; make sure they have the knowledge and can care for the animal. Also they should be able to legally keep the animal. In case of doubt refuse to give the animal or else insist that they give you updates of the animal from time to time.
Lastly enjoy breeding for it’s an interesting occupation; but is morally wrong to breed for profits alone considering our pet overpopulation problem. It will probably cost you more to breed the parents and raise the offspring than you'll gain selling them
