About Discovery Preschool

We have spaces still available in the Tu/Th PM class for 3-5 year olds. Discovery Preschool is a parent co-operative offering a nurturing, stimulating environment that is Reggio and project inspired. With the teacher in the role of researcher, the children contribute to and negotiate the curriculum in partnership. The daily schedule provides time for interactive play in a variety of interesting centers, gathering time, snack and group activities (e.g. yoga, drama, art, drumming). The students display and revisit their learning through photos, artwork and an artifact gallery. Family and community play a crucial role in supporting the children s inquiry and learning. Parents volunteer in the classroom on a rotational basis and each family assumes a job that contributes to the running of the program.
